I had a unique road trip, at lease unique for me. It was just me in the van for 3 1/2 hours. Usually I have at least one or two of the kids with me. Instead it was just me.
It was nice to be able to listen to what I wanted, at any volume I wanted. Since it was late at night, and I was tired, it was loud fast music played at 11 (because 11 is one higher, that is as far as I was able to get to in Spinal Tap, just didn’t like it. Then again, I like Mel Brooks movies, so what does that say about me?)
It was a nice break, I am actually not sure when the last time I was in a vehicle by myself for any length of time. Just in case you don’t have kids, that is what happens when you become a parent. It is fun to be able to take the kids places, but it is also nice to be able to go someplace without them.
I need to figure out a way to have it just be the wife and I in the van for a nice road trip.
Unfortunately the reason I was on the trip myself was because everyone else was sick. Luckily the girls are better, and the wife is almost there. It is easier to deal with a spouse who doesn’t feel well than kids that don’t feel well.
Anyway, if you get a chance, I highly recommend taking a drive by yourself. And if you are wondering why I was driving around, here is a hint:

And no game wardens, hunters or cows were hurt in the making of this post.
