Winter

Ok, so who out there is ready for winter?  Or how many of you don’t really get winter?  Just in case you are not clear on what I mean by winter, this is what my driveway looked like this morning:

Winter

For those of you who don’t know, that white stuff is snow. 😉  It is still falling from the sky as I type this.  I am not sure if it will stick or melt, since the ground isn’t frozen yet.  But it does mean the chances of seeing a cool old car when I am out driving has dropped to pretty much Zero.

It also means that it is cold out here.  While it isn’t super cold (right around freezing) it is still not warm.

It also meant that this afternoon’s project was this:

Winter

The project was getting the mower deck off my lawn tractor and getting the snow blower on it.  I still need to pick up a few bolts to put the wheel weights on, and get the chains on so it doesn’t get stuck so easy.

If you have ever had to shovel snow, just look at the previous picture of my driveway.  It is about 300 feet long, and you will understand why I am excited about the rider with the snow blower.

And since outside projects will be done soon, it depends on how much of the snow melts, that means it will soon be time to start working on getting the garage cleaned up.  The I can start working on cataloging the parts on the 1966 Impala and make a plan for what all needs to get done on it over the winter.

The big thing is that it needs to be painted.  I am thinking about trying that myself.  After reading about water based paints, it sounds like something fun to try  And at worst, it will be a so-so looking paint job but good enough to be able to drive it.

And after I get my garage in order, I have some videos I want to shoot for you guys to help make some of the stuff I have been talking about for how things work clearer.  Plus I think it would be a fun way to help explain things.

So, I hope all of you who get winter, are ready for it, because if it isn’t there yet, it soon will be.
